RunFormula Studio

Build, run, inspect, and hear formula-driven lines against tones, exact Chords/scales, instruments, or complete Harmony timelines.

Page goal

Turn formula grammar into playable musical lines

Use the studio as a complete formula workbench: choose a preset or write DSL, define its musical context, constrain the output, then inspect and hear the exact controller result.

  • Preset or custom DSL
  • Harmony and Chord/scale contexts
  • Instrument-aware audition

Formula graph

Connect, merge, and combine

Connect typed blocks, merge sequences, combine voices, route bass and solo parts across HarmonyEvents, and compile the result as RunFormula DSL.

Select a formula to draw it on the graph.
Required by HE(...) to run every voice across the chord events.
Edit the formula text, then draw it as connected blocks. Apply graph to DSL writes graph changes back here.
1 Connect ports to build a chain. 2 Select terminal blocks and merge them into one sequence. 3 Select terminal blocks and combine them as parallel voices.
Guide

A reliable RunFormula workflow

Start from musical intent

Choose the smallest formula that expresses the contour, rhythm, targeting, or bass behavior you want. Add operators only when each one has a clear musical role.

Suggested workflow

  • Choose a stored preset or enter custom DSL.
  • Select tones, one exact Chord/scale, or a Harmony timeline.
  • Set the instrument and limits, generate the line, then inspect and audition it.

RX

Use advanced audio settings as the playback source for chord-grid clicks, test chord charts, and inspect the generated accompaniment.
