MIDI and MusicXML tool
Import a MIDI or MusicXML file, inspect its notes and timing, and extract musical material inside JolyMusic.
Drop a MIDI, MusicXML, or MXL file into the analyser, inspect its metrics and piano roll, select tracks or a timeline range, and play or export the useful material.
Load the file you want to understand
- Drop a supported file and wait for its overview to load.
- Use the piano roll and track controls to isolate the passage or voices you need.
- Play the selection, then download or save MIDI or MusicXML when it is ready.
Inspect the file, then keep only the tracks you need
Read real MIDI channels and MusicXML parts, inspect their notes and harmony lanes, then create a new MIDI or MusicXML file from your selection.
Choose a supported music file to inspect its tracks, events, harmony, and note data.

Harmony events
Harmony events are derived beat by beat from sustained pitch classes. Each melodic channel or score part also receives its own harmony lane; MIDI channel 10 percussion is excluded.

Import MIDI or MusicXML
The overview reports duration, bars, notes, channels, polyphony, and resolution; use these values to understand the file before selecting anything.
Read tracks, timing, and the piano roll
The piano roll is both a reading tool and a selection surface: velocity, track selection, and timeline range determine what is played or exported.
Isolate one musical idea before exporting it
- Drop a supported file and wait for its overview to load.
- Use the piano roll and track controls to isolate the passage or voices you need.
