C altered is dominant tension in compact form: C, Db, Eb, E, Gb, Ab, and Bb. The triads turn those tensions into playable guitar objects.

Because the scale contains both minor-third and major-third color around C, the run must stay clear about spelling and voice leading. One chord per bar keeps the ear oriented.
